The short version

Mega Evolution: Delta Reign arrives in UK shops on 6 November 2026, with sanctioned prerelease events beginning two weeks earlier on 24 October. It is a main expansion of more than 135 cards, led by Mega Rayquaza ex and a new two-card Stadium concept called Legendary Stadiums.

The standard Elite Trainer Box has a UK recommended retail price of £49.99. That is the useful number to keep in view when comparing preorders. Early marketplace listings can move well above retail, but a high asking price is not evidence that completed sales are happening at the same level.

What is inside the Delta Reign ETB?

The standard box follows the modern main-set ETB format. It contains nine Delta Reign booster packs, 65 sleeves, 45 Energy cards, a player's guide, dice, condition markers, dividers and a storage box. The featured promotional card is Kyogre with special illustration artwork.

At £49.99, the standard ETB works out at about £5.56 per included booster before assigning any value to the promo or accessories. That makes it a tidy opening-night bundle, but a booster display or loose packs may make more sense for anyone whose only aim is pack volume. Check whether a listing is the standard box or a Pokémon Center edition before comparing prices because their pack counts and promos differ.

  • 9 Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution: Delta Reign booster packs
  • 1 full-art foil promo card featuring Kyogre
  • 65 card sleeves and 45 Pokémon TCG Energy cards
  • Player's guide, damage-counter dice and competition-legal coin-flip die
  • Condition markers, storage box and dividers

The cards giving Delta Reign its identity

Mega Rayquaza ex is the headline return, its first physical Pokémon TCG appearance in this form since the XY era. The set also confirms Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex and Mega Golisopod ex, alongside six regular Pokémon ex. Pokémon says the expansion contains 14 illustration rare Pokémon, 17 ultra rare Pokémon and Trainer cards, and six special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards.

Legendary Stadiums are the mechanical wildcard. Each is formed by playing two Stadium cards together, creating one extended scene and a shared strategic effect. When a booster contains one half, Pokémon says it contains both pieces, removing the most obvious frustration of opening only half of a functional pair.

Among the revealed cards, Heat Rotom ex turns discarded Fire Energy into damage, Groudon becomes dramatically stronger when a Legendary Stadium is in play, Kommo-o accelerates Basic Energy to Dragon Pokémon, and Zinnia's Trust switches the Active Pokémon while carrying an Energy across. Those are actual deck-building signals, not just a list of visual chase cards.

Prerelease is the best early look

Each Build & Battle Box includes four Delta Reign boosters and a ready-to-play 40-card deck built around one of four foil promos: Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus or Kommo-o. Prerelease games use four Prize cards rather than six, so matches are shorter and imperfect card pools are part of the appeal.

The promos also preview real strategies. Masquerain supports the Bug Out attack, Magmortar accelerates Fire or Lightning Energy, Enamorus reduces attack costs for a group of Incarnate Pokémon, and Kommo-o powers Dragon attackers. If you want to understand the set before buying sealed product, a local event gives you cards, guided deck building and games for the entry price.

  • Masquerain: builds around Bug Out attackers and recovery from the discard pile
  • Magmortar: uses Buddy Boost to accelerate Fire and Lightning Energy
  • Enamorus: works with Thundurus, Landorus and Tornadus through Incarnate Solidarity
  • Kommo-o: finds Basic Energy for Dragon Pokémon and attacks for 170 damage

A sensible UK buying plan

Use £49.99 as the baseline for a standard ETB and compare final checkout prices, not attention-grabbing preorder headlines. Confirm whether payment is taken immediately, whether allocations can be reduced, and whether the retailer promises dispatch or delivery for release day.

Collectors chasing Mega Rayquaza or special illustrations should remember that an ETB does not guarantee a particular rarity. Players may get more useful information from prerelease results and Pokémon TCG Live on 5 November. Sealed collectors should keep the receipt, inspect the shrink wrap on arrival and avoid paying a large premium simply because stock appears in waves.
